Democrats Announce Fourth Stimulus Relief Bill Worth $3 Trillion

Democrats unveiled a $3 trillion stimulus relief bill yesterday. The bill which has been named the “Heroes Act” would designate nearly $1 trillion dollars for state and local governments, $200 billion dollars for essential worker hazard pay, $75 billion for COVID-19 testing, tracing and isolation efforts, and also a second round of direct payments to Americans that could amount to almost $6,000 per household. Furthermore, Democrats have said they plan to vote on the bill by Friday morning. If passed, the “Heroes Act” will become the largest relief package in American history, completely overshadowing the $2 trillion package passed in March. However, it was met with strong opposition long before it was proposed. Republicans have maintained they want to wait and see the first round of funding through, before approving more. Senator John Barrasso said he feels confident the bill will not pass.
