Joe Biden Holds Steady Lead in Polls Over President Trump

Recent developments in the 2020 election do not bode well for President Trump. Michigan Representative Justin Amash has announced he’s considering running for the Libertarian Party’s presidential nomination. Michigan was a key state in the 2016 election and will prove to be essential again in this year’s. While it’s predicted Amash most likely will not be the next president, his participation could potentially divide the republican party. Even a fraction of votes for him could throw a serious wrench in Trump’s re-election. According to recent polls by Monmouth University, former Vice President Joe Biden currently holds a steady lead. It shows his numbers at 50% over President Trump’s 41%. Adding Amash into that mix, numbers show Biden at 47%, President Trump at 40% and Amash at 5%. This six-point lead is reportedly the steadiest lead on record after Biden consistently maintained these numbers since April.
