A lot of the news we’ve seen this past week has been pretty extreme but, there are a lot of inspiring stories out there too. here’s a quick round-up of five good things.
A woman in North Carolina named Becky Hoeffler has been doing grocery store runs for elderly people to reduce their exposure. She’s working from home now and on her lunch breaks she makes the trips so her neighbors stay healthy.
Internet providers are offering unlimited, free public wi-fi and the big phone companies are stepping up too. Verizon is pausing all late fees for their customers and T-Mobile is giving unlimited data on their smart phones.
After Disneyland shut down, the company decided to donate all their extra food to a food bank in Orange County, California.
Last week a distillery in Oregon announced that they were making hand sanitizer and giving it out for free. After word of that spread, now more distilleries around the country are doing it as well.
There’s something called the “kindness postcard” that has been making the rounds on social media. It’s a card you can print out and put in your neighbors’ mailboxes, in case they need assistance. you just list your name and phone number and it says to call if they need groceries, supplies, or even just someone to talk to.
