Charleston International Airport Announces Expansion Plans

Charleston International Airport is already looking forward to 2021 as it plans for a major expansion.
The proposed expansion will cost $305 million dollars. About $150 million dollars alone will go to building a third concourse. Construction is expected to start in late 2021 and officials hope to have it finished by 2023. They’re building to accommodate the rapid growth the airport is experiencing. They receive around 180 flights a day and they expect a 9% increase in travelers over the next few years. In addition to the concourse, a fuel depot and 20 new ticket desks are to be added as well.
