Toddler Kidnapped During Carjacking Found

A two-year-old who was involved in a carjacking in Florence has been found. Police responded to reports of a blue Toyota Camry that was stolen early this morning at the Speedy Mart on West Lucas Street. They quickly learned a two-year-old was inside the vehicle and escalated the crime to kidnapping and began desperately searching. Thanks to the Florence County Sheriff’s Office, the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the State Law Enforcement Division, the child and the car were found safe and sound just outside the city limits about an hour and a half after it was stolen. The incident remains under investigation.
