McLean, David

Mr. David Knox McLean, 91, of Lumberton, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2011 at his residence. Mr. McLean was born January 5, 1920 in Lumberton, to the late Abraham Lincoln and Mary Frances Parnell McLean. Mr. McLean was preceded in death by wife, Annie Mae Dowless McLean; son, James Lincoln McLean; daughter, Bobbie Jean Pittman; one grandchild, Charlie B. Pittman; and siblings, Mary Maude Monroe, Henry Pope McLean, and Dorothy Grace Mercer. Leaving to cherish his memories are sons, David Knox McLean, Jr. and wife, Mary Ellen, and Christopher McLean; daughters, Judy Parker and husband, William, Polly Floyd, Frances Powers and husband, Donald, Gwendolyn Vukovich and husband , Roger, and Lesia McLean-Kinlaw and husband, David Lynn; 23 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2011 at Biggs Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Singletary Baptist Church with Rev. Mitchell Nance officiating. He will be laid to rest in the McLean Family Cemetery.
