Collins, Shirley Dean

Shirley Dean Collins, 62 of Florence, passed away on Saturday, July 09, 2011 at her residence after an illness. Mrs. Collins was born in Horry Co., a daughter of the late John Willis and Pearline Brown Jordan. She retired from the SCDOT. Surviving are her husband, Harvey Lee Collins of Florence; two daughters, Sherry Lynn Collins and Cheryl Collins both of Florence; special nieces, Nancy Jordan Day of Florence and Cassie Jordan of Loris; three sisters, Sylvia Dean Jordan and Nelma Jean Jordan both of Loris, Earline Collins of Florence; and two brothers, Johnny O. Jordan and James Willis Jordan both of Aynor. She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Dolan Jordan and Leo Willis Jordan; and two sisters, Shelby Dean Smith and Vernontine Jordan. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 12, 2011 in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Mizpah Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Monday, July 11, 2011 at the funeral home.
