Warm Weather Woes
Unseasonably warm weather along the East Coast leads to snowmelt and serious flooding,
Unseasonably warm weather has settled over much of the East Coast. Several records were either broken or tied on Tuesday. New York City and Boston each broke the 70-degree mark, while cities in Connecticut and Rhode Island reached the mid-sixties, falling just a few degrees shy of new records. With plenty of snow still on the ground, streets quickly filled up with rushing water. The snowmelt, combined with some rain, led to serious flooding. Drivers in eastern Ohio had to navigate streets that became rivers, because of high water. The National Weather Service says temperatures will rise even higher on Wednesday.
