Joseph Tyler 91 of Raeford passed away on Saturday July 2, 2011 at Morrison Manor Hospice Home in Laurinburg NC. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday July 5, 2011 at Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow the service at Locklear and Tyler Family Cemetery in Raeford. Mr. Tyler was born in Robeson County to the late Daniel Tyler and Patty Bullard Tyler. He retired from the NC Department of Transportation and enjoyed farming, fishing and hunting. Mr. Tyler was a faithful member of New Beginning Baptist Church. Mr. Tyler was preceded in death by his first wife Gertrude Locklear Tyler, daughter Gertie Tyler Lowery and son Joseph Daniel Tyler and all of his siblings. He is survived by his wife Helen Lowery Tyler; sons Timothy B. Tyler and Nelson Tyler; daughters Joyce Tyler Lowery and husband Frank, Mary Tyler Lowery, Reba Locklear, Evelyn Tyler Sullivan and husband John and Linda Tyler and eight (8) step children; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6-8PM on Monday July 4th at Richard Boles Funeral Service in Laurinburg.
