CHARLOTTE, NC — Julius Peppers stayed in the locker room during the National Anthem before Sunday’s game with the Saints.
Coach Ron Rivera says he talked to the team about the situation Saturday night. No Carolina players sat or kneeled during the anthem, and the team did not lock arms like other squads in the league.
Only Peppers took a stand on Sunday.
Panthers owner Jerry Richardson released a statement Monday on the situation.
