Starting the Clean-up

Cleanup begins after Irma leaves a path of destruction through parts of Florida, Georgia and South Carolina.

Irma’s damage certainly could have been worse, but, it’s still going to take a lot of time to rebuild. The remnants of Irma are still soaking parts of the southeast, while parts of Florida can begin the clean-up. There’s no timetable for how long flooding will last in places like Jacksonville, or hundreds of miles away near Fort Myers, where the waters are still rising. Further south, many evacuated homeowners should be allowed back into their houses today.
