Hux, Benjamin Harold

Benjamin Harold Hux, age 77, of Lumberton, NC died on Friday, June 24, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Columbus County, NC on January 14, 1934 to the late Benjamin Harley and Rena Todd Hux. He previously worked as an owner/operator in the restaurant business. Mr. Hux is survived by his wife, Frances C. Hux of the home; a daughter, Amanda Hooks and husband James W. of Lumberton, NC; a step-daughter, Tobina DeKleva and husband Jeffrey of Myrtle Beach, SC; a sister, Shelba Ross of Laurens, SC; and two grandchildren, Lindsay and Lauren. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2011 at 4:00 PM at Oakton Baptist Church with Rev. Mitch Tyner and Mr. Kenneth Prevatte officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday, June 25, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Lung Association, 514 Daniels St, #109, Raleigh, North Carolina 27605 or the Oakton Baptist Church Youth, 444 Oakton Church Road, Fairmont, NC 28340.
