Todd Gardner, 44, of Darlington died Tuesday, June 21, 2011. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 11 AM at Mechanicsville Baptist Church. Private interment will be held at a later date at Lake City Memorial Park. Mr. Gardner was born in Florence County. He was the son of Eugene Austin ‘Skeets’ Gardner and the late Elizabeth ‘Libby’ Cook Gardner. He graduated from St. John’s High School where he lettered in football playing for the Blue Devils. He continued his education and graduated from Francis Marion University. Todd and his family were the owners of Skeet’s Barbeque Restaurant in the Mechanicsville Community for many years and was an active member of Mechanicsville Baptist Church. Todd was a loving father, son and brother. Survivors in addition to his father are his son, Austin Gardner; two daughters, Gabby and Grey Gardner; one brother, Eugene Austin ‘Tripp’ (Renee) Gardner of Murrells Inlet; one sister, Terri Elizabeth (Eddie) Odom of Lugoff, SC; his Aunts and Uncles, Carleen and Wick Tanner of Lake City and Nell and Larry Copeland of Taylors’ SC; nieces and nephews, Trey and Taylor Gardner and Tanner and Helen Odom. The family will receive friends from 6 PM until 8 PM on Friday, June 24, 2011 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Mechanicsville Baptist Church, 2364 Cashua Ferry Road, Darlington, SC 29532.
