Smith Sr, Kenneth

Kenneth Alexander Smith Sr., 71, a native of the Pamplico community, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at his daughter‘s residence in Boone, NC. Mr. Smith was born the son of Lauthern Alexander Smith and Mary Hartfield Smith on October 29, 1939. He was a retired flooring technician and was of the Pentecostal Holiness Faith. Surviving are: a son, Kenneth A. (Misty) Smith, Jr.; a daughter, Laurie C. (Dale) Long; and four grandchildren: Crystal C. (Joey) Andrews, Brian A. Jenerette II, Ashley S. (Jamie) Miller, and Cody A. Smith. Also surviving, a brother, William “Bill” (Willamae) Smith; two sisters, Doris A. Richardson and Myrtle (Johnnie) Miller; and a very special extended family, Wendy Smith and Francine S. (Jimmy) Turner. He was predeceased by: his parents; a brother, Donnie Smith; and a brother-in-law, Ronald Richardson. A Home Going Celebration will be 3PM, Monday, June 13, 2011 in the Pamplico Pentecostal Holiness Church directed by the Hemingway Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
