Funeral services for Pauline Howell James, 84, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Mt. Elon Baptist Church. The Rev. Charles McAteer and the Rev. Randy James will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home is serving the family. The family will receive friends Friday, June 10, 2011 from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. James, widow of Benjamin James, died Wednesday, June 8, 2011. Born in Darlington Co., SC, she was a daughter of the late Luther and Mamie Taylor Howell. Surviving are her sons, Robert (Pat) James of Oates, SC, Allen (Sharon) James of Columbia, SC; daughters, Ethel (Larry) Johnson of Hartsville, SC, Norma James of Oates, SC, Paulette (Woody) Jones of Oates, SC; grandchildren, Chad (Cindi) James, Brian James, Stephanie (Bill) Watford, Christy (David) Weatherford, Wally Johnson, Ladd (Tiffaney) Johnson, Nathan Jones, Matthew Jones; great-grandchildren, Britney Holder, Calli James, Melanie Watford, Ace James, Gavin Weatherford, McKenzie Johnson, Jace Johnson; sisters, Nellie Ham, Eula Stokes, Emily Jean Andrews; brother, Johnny (Ann) Howell; sister-in-law, Lib Howell. She was preceded in death by her brother, William Howell and sisters, Mary Howell, Otcha Mae Gardner, Annie Sue Jordan, Elease Howell and Margaret Howell.
