Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9 (KJV) On Sunday, May 29, 2011, God called Peggy Thomas Davis home to rest. She was the third child born to Obed Thomas, Sr. and Fennie Harrell-Thomas. She was born on July 22, 1945 in Florence County, South Carolina. Peggy attended the public schools of Florence County and furthered her education at South Carolina State University, Orangeburg, SC and Florence-Darlington Technical College, Florence, SC. Her employment was with McLeod Regional Medical Center for 22 years before retiring. She accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. She served on the United Methodist Women Auxiliary as the Vice-President and Group Number Three as Circle Leader. Peggy was always offering an encouraging word. She was truly a loving and caring person who never met a stranger. Loved ones who will cherish her fond memories forever are her loving family to include: her devoted children, Mrs. Nichelle (Michael) Jamison of Birmingham, AL, and Mr. Dwayne (Debbie) Cullen of Effingham, SC; five grandchildren, Britton Alexander, Nicholas Alexander, Johnathan Faulkner, Jasmine Cullen and Joy Cullen; two brothers, Mr. Obed, Jr. (Adell) Thomas of Effingham, SC, and Mr. John Henry (Peggy) Grant of Virginia Beach, VA; one sister, Mrs. Grizzel T. McFadden (Benjamin); two uncles, Mr. Charlie Harrell of Chesilhurst, NJ, and Mr. Monroe (Octavia) Harrell of Williams Town, NJ; one aunt, Mrs. Vivian G. Hyman of Philadelphia, PA; a special nephew, Mr. Bernard Thomas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
