Harrison, Janie Player

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;” Ecclesiastes 3: 1-2 Mrs. Janie Player Harrison, one of five children born to Joe Player and Almeta Allison Player was born January 17, 1942 in Florence, South Carolina. On Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Carolinas Hospital System, she departed this life after an extended illness. Janie attended the public schools of Florence County. Her employment was with 301 Drive-In, now called The Drive-In, Inc. for many years until her health declined. She was a member of Full Gospel Church of Jesus Christ, Inc. under the leadership of District Elder Earl McCullough. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Harrison; and three siblings, Baby Girl Player, Willie Player and LJ Player. Left to cherish precious memories are: one son, Bernard Player of Florence, SC; one sister, Vivian (Glennie) Young of New Haven, CT; one niece, Leedoris Player of New Haven, CT; one nephew, David Player of New Haven, CT; a special cousin, Mattie Bacote Session of New Haven, CT; her caregiver, Azalee (Reginald) Williams of Florence, SC; and host of other relatives and friends.
