LAKE CITY: Mr. Glen Barfield, 56, husband of Adell Smith Barfield, died Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at his residence after an illness. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 20, 2011, at Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial following in the church cemetery, directed by Carolina Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., Thursday, May 19th, at Carolina Funeral Home, 215 E. Highway 378 ByPass, Scranton. Mr. Barfield was born on November 27, 1954, in Clarendon County, a son of Valorie Cook Barfield and the late Barto Barfield. He was a graduate of Cades-Hebron High School and was employed with M. A. Hanna of Kingstree for 28 years. Mr. Barfield attended Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and all animals. Surviving are: His wife of 34 years, Adell S. Barfield of Lake City; son, Jefferie Glen Barfield and his wife, Tabitha of Yuma, Arizona; daughter, Kristen Elizabeth Barfield of Mt. Pleasant; granddaughter, Abigail Elizabeth Barfield of Yuma, Arizona; mother, Valorie C. Barfield of Lake City; brother, Terry Barfield and his wife, Gayle of Lake City; and his beloved dog and best friend, “Tipsie”. He was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Gayle B. Nettles.
