DARLINGTON- Georgie Ilene Weaver Jordan, age 94, passed away Tuesday, April 05, 2011 at McLeod Hospice House. Mrs. Jordan was born in Sumter County, daughter of the late Henry Grady Weaver and Maggie Jane McElveen Weaver. She was a graduate of Perry Business College and retired after 35 years with customer service at American Can Corporation. She enjoyed traveling, singing, and playing the piano and violin. As a member of First Baptist Church, she taught Sunday School , was a Bible scholar, and had served as a Senior Adult Coordinator. Surviving are her daughters: Martha (Luke) Griggs of Darlington and Nancy Dunn of Asheville, NC; her grandchildren: Eileen (David) Anderson, Jack Jordan, David Jordan, Beth (Cliff) Jones, Amy Jordan, and Amanda (Brad) Jones; a brother, Cecil (Patsy) Weaver of Darlington and sisters: Christine (Ed) Hursey, Sullie Lane, of Darlington and Elaine Williams of Florence. Mrs. Jordan was preceded in death by her husband, Jack F. Jordan, Sr. infant son, Stewart Grady Jordan, son, J. Fred Jordan, Jr. and siblings, Franklin Weaver, H. G. Weaver and Juanita Weaver. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church, Post Office Box 297, Darlington, South Carolina 29540. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church with interment following in Lake Swamp Cemetery directed by Belk Funeral Home.
