Gardner, Otcha Mae

Mrs. Gardner was born in Darlington County a daughter of the late Luther & Mamie Taylor Howell of Oates. She was the widow of Belk Howell and James Gardner. Surviving are three children: Willie James (Janie) Howell, Lamar, Peggy H. (Gerald) Gainey, Hartsville, Betty H. Parrott, Hartsville, five grandchildren, Kevin (Gretchen) Parrott, Craig (Elizabeth) Gainey, Hartsville, Steven (Gaye) Howell, Aiken, Susan H. (Tim) O‘Neal, Hopkins, Tonya P. (Chris) Bell, Morristown, TN, nine great-grandchildren, five siblings, Eula Stokes, Nellie Ham, Pauline James, Johnny (Ann) Howell, Emily Jean Andrews, one sister in law, Lib Howell. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Dante H. Parrott, siblings, Margaret Howell, Elease Howell, Annie Sue Jordan, William Howell, & Mary Howell. Graveside services for Otcha Mae Howell Gardner, age 93, who died Sunday, April 3, 2011 in a Darlington Health Care facility, will be held Tuesday at 11:00 am at the Mt. Elon Baptist Church Cemetery in Lydia directed by Norton Funeral Home, Hartsville. Visitation will be Monday 6-8 pm at the Funeral Home.
