Sarvis, Mary Elizabeth

Mary Elizabeth “Beth” Sarvis entered into eternal rest on March 14, 2011. She was born in Horry County on August 14, 1931 the daughter of the late Oscar Ezra and Addie Mae Powell Sarvis. She is predeceased by her eldest brother, Liston Sarvis, and her only sister, Gracie Fowler, as well as her niece, Sandy Watts. She leaves behind her brothers, David Sarvis of Maryland and Rev. Sam Sarvis of Loris, her daughter, Meleisa Prince of Loris, her grandson, Shane Prince and his fiancé Jennifer Long of Loris, her granddaughter, Shana Gause and her husband Ken of Loris, her great granddaughter and namesake, Layla Beth Gause of Loris, her nieces and nephews all who loved her dearly, Pamela Sarvis Berendts, David Sarvis and Sherry Sarvis of Baltimore, Maryland, Brenda Fowler, Carolyn Williamson, Wayne Fowler, Wendell Fowler, Pat Cox, Priscilla Paul, Allen Sarvis, Tim Sarvis, Sheila Young, Sammy Sarvis all of the Loris area, and Sarah Morris of Lexington, SC, a very special great niece, Renae Strickland of Loris, her friend and caregiver, Gwen Cannon of Loris, and her beloved Alana and Jenna Ahrens of Athens, Georgia. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Beth was a nanny to many children over the years and was an influence on the lives of all the children she cared for. She was a woman of many talents and always amazed everyone that knew her with her creativity and imagination. She was a woman of strength, generosity, and humor, a true child of nature who was happiest when surrounded by flowers, trees, songbirds, and God‘s creatures. She bestowed on her family the greatest gift of all, her undying love and devotion. Memorials may be made to Brookgreen Gardens, P.O. Box 3368, Pawleys Island, SC 29585 or anyone is encouraged to plant a tree or flower in memory of Ms. Sarvis. The family will receive friends at the residence on Red Bluff Road from 6-8 PM Tuesday, March 15, 2011. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, March 16, 2011 from the Ward Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rory Thigpen officiating. A private committal service will follow at the Hillcrest Mausoleum in Conway.
