Man Identified In Fatal Crash While Attempting To Evade Police

39-year-old Travis Long crashed into a ditch, a brick sign, and several trees before ultimately crashing into a fence.

The man who died in a crash while attempting to evade law enforcement has been identified.

The crash unfolded around 2am Sunday along Cates Bay Highway near Johnson Street in Horry County.

No officers were injured as Long’s vehicle was the only one that crashed. It is unclear why police were pursuing Long’s car.

The accident remains under investigation.
