Man Charged After Shooting Near Florence KFC

Investigators learned that Carlton Manning and a man in his 50s were reportedly arguing in the drive-thru which escalated.

One man has been charged in connection to an incident that unfolded at a KFC in Florence County.

The situation happened on Tuesday night at the eatery located on West Evans Street. Investigators learned that Carlton Manning and a man in his 50s were arguing in the drive-thru.

Manning then pulled into an open lot beside KFC after receiving his order and continued arguing with the victim. The victim then received his order and drove alongside Manning’s vehicle.

Manning is accused of then firing into the victim’s vehicle. A bullet struck them once in the right arm and Manning fled. He admitted to shooting the victim during questioning.

Manning was arrested and charged with attempted murder, aggravated breach of peace and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

The victim received medical treatment and is expected to recover following surgery.
