‘American Idol’ Alum Caleb Flynn Found Guilty In Wife’s Murder

Jurors took just over two hours to reach a guilty verdict on all counts. Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 5.

Former ‘American Idol’ contestant Caleb Flynn was convicted Tuesday of murdering his wife, Ashley.

Flynn is accused of fatally shooting his 37-year-old wife twice in the back of the head while she slept in their bed on February 16. He then staged the scene to look like a home invasion and told investigators a fabricated story.

During the trial, evidence was introduced including messages between Flynn and his mistress. One claimed he was trying to think of ways to kill his wife without going to jail.

Flynn faced nine charges including aggravated murder, three counts of murder, two counts of felonious assault, and three counts of tampering with evidence involving the missing firearm, the side garage door and emails. Jurors also considered firearm specifications attached to several charges.
