Several People Displaced After Multi-Unit Residential Structure Fire

The building had flames coming through the roof and officials sent out a second alarm to request additional resources.

Several people have been displaced following a multi-unit residential structure fire.

Around 2:19am Tuesday, Horry County Fire Rescue crews were called to Edgerton Drive. Upon arrival, the multi-unit building was showing flames through the roof and officials sent out a second alarm to request additional resources.

The flames were under control by around an hour later. One unit sustained heavy fire damage and three others sustained smoke and water damage. No one was injured but six residents were displaced. Those displaced will be offered assistance. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
