37th Annual Beach Sweep And River Sweep Happening Soon

Volunteers will be working to remove items like plastic and glass bottles, cans, cigarette butts, and other litter.

The 37th annual Beach Sweep and River Sweep is going down across beaches, marshes and waterways on the Grand Strand and Pee Dee.

The event includes around 100 cleanup sites and is led by the South Carolina Sea Grant Consortium and the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources. Everyone is invited to participate including schools, youth groups, organizations and businesses.

Volunteers will be working to remove items like plastic and glass bottles, cans, cigarette butts, and other litter. Clean-ups will kick off at 9am on Saturday unless otherwise noted. Some of the sites include Cherry Grove Beach, Springmaid Pier, Myrtle Beach State Park, Stafford’s Bridge Landing, and more. For more locations, you can click here or here.
