Chihuahuas are Part Coyote…Maybe That’s Why They’re So Fierce

Scientists at Stanford University looked at the DNA of various animals and mapped out their evolutionary history.

Chihuahuas are some of the tiniest and mightiest dogs…and now we know some of that fierceness might have to do with their genes.

Scientists at Stanford University looked at the DNA of various animals and mapped out their evolutionary history. They found that chihuahuas share genetic makeup with coyotes. They did not reveal exactly when coyote genes might have entered the chihuahua lineage — or if it was deliberate or accidental. The genetic research was published in the journal ‘Nature Communications.’
