Luke Sharp and Valerie Hensley were in the studio to talk about some of the history behind the Adaptive Surf Project as well as their continued efforts to make a beach day a reality for everyone!

Hensley’s mother brought one of the first beach wheelchairs to Myrtle Beach back in 1992.

Adaptive Surf Project hosts several events throughout the year including their upcoming Wheel to Surf event on Sept. 12th, 2026 – 13th Avenue South, 13th Ave S, Surfside Beach, SC.
