Two Brothers Charged In Death Of Their 47-Year-Old Aunt

Two brothers, 23-year-old Kigical Atkins and 19-year-old Tristen Mack, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated.

We have an update on a fatal shooting that unfolded in Florence County.

The incident happened around 2:30pm on Sunday along Vince Circle. Two brothers, 23-year-old Kigical Atkins and 19-year-old Tristen Mack, were involved in a verbal altercation.

The situation escalated prompting atkins to retrieve a shotgun with intentions to shoot Mack. Their aunt, 47-year-old Takisha Johnson, reportedly attempted to stop Atkins from leaving the home with the gun when it discharged, killing her.

Atkins was arrested and charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Mack was also arrested and charged with assault and battery. Atkins is being held at the Florence County Detention Center without bond. Mack was released on a $10,000 surety bond. The investigation remains active.
