Soccer Star Cristiano Ronaldo Hints At Retirement

Cristiano Ronaldo is hinting at retiring from soccer.

The 41-year-old sports legend hinted at retirement during an interview. “This is probably my last year of [soccer], and I want to leave a spectacular legacy,” Ronaldo said.

The interview took place just days before he and Georgina Rodríguez secretly tied the knot. Ronaldo said he has his future all mapped out and has so many things to keep him busy, while not sharing anything specific. He also said he has had to sacrifice a lot over his 24 year professional career.

Ronaldo’s contract with Al Nassr, a Saudi Arabian professional sports club, expires in June, 2027. This comes after he announced in July that the 2026 World Cup would mark his final year participating in the tournament. It marked his sixth time playing in the major soccer matches.
