What is the Doom Diamond Decluttering Method?
It's effective if you are tempted to put things away mid-declutter and get off task easily.
Wanting to get your house in order before fall? There’s a way to organization dubbed the ‘doom diamond’ method.
‘Doom’ stands for “didn’t organize, only moved,” describing those miscellaneous piles or bins where clutter tends to collect. This method simplifies clutter by sorting items into four groups. That includes trash, items with a home, items needing a home, and action items. The action items are those that require a couple more steps before they can be assigned to a home or tossed, like unread mail.
The goal of this method is to reduce overwhelm by breaking a large pile into smaller, more manageable groups. It’s effective if you are tempted to put things away mid-declutter and get off task easily.
