Police in Greenville, South Carolina, say she was found unresponsive at a local apartment complex Sunday afternoon.

Despite medical assistance — they say Panettiere was pronounced dead.

Police add that the preliminary investigation found no signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances. Panettiere is best known for playing Claire Bennet in “Heroes” and country star Juliette Barnes in “Nashville.” Her film credits include “Remember the Titans,” “Scream 4” and “Scream 6.”
