Small Plane Lands In Woods Near Conway Airport

A small plane landed in a wooded area near the Conway Airport Sunday.

Horry County Fire Rescue crews were dispatched around 8:30am to the area of the Conway Airport. The small plane landed in the woods near North Pawleys Road and sustained some damage. The pilot was the only occupant on board and was not injured.

The incident was under control as of 10:35am as crews worked on the scene. Specialized towing crews had to work to remove the aircraft from the woods.

The Myrtle Beach International Airport Fire Department, Horry County Police Department, and City of Conway Fire Department assisted on the scene.
