Man Arrested After Dogs Allegedly Attack Victim

Six of the animals were seized but two remain at large. One of the missing dogs was shot during the incident but has not been located.

One man has been charged after eight dogs attacked a person on Friday.

Sammy Bethea is facing eight counts of owning dangerous animals that attacked and injured a human being, eight counts of permitting domestic animals to run at large, eight counts of ill treatment of animals, and eight counts of failure to provide rabies vaccination.

Bethea admitted the dogs lived with him at his home on Old Wire Road in the Wallace area of Marlboro County. Bethea was taken to the Marlboro County Detention Center where he awaits a bond hearing.
