Woman Faces DUI Charges Following Death Of Pedestrian

77-year-old Lloyd Shelton of Virginia was taken to a hospital where he later died. The second victim suffered a broken left leg.

One woman is facing charges following a fatal incident in North Myrtle Beach.

The situation unfolded Friday night when 43-year-old Dawnya Little was reportedly traveling south near the 300 block of North Ocean Boulevard in a Honda Pilot. She allegedly struck two pedestrians in the crosswalk with her vehicle.

Surveillance video showed Little was the “sole contributing factor in the collision.” Officers say she showed signs of impairment. Her blood was tested, but the level was not immediately available.

An alcoholic seltzer was found in the rear driver’s side door. Little has been charged with felony DUI resulting in death and felony DUI resulting in great bodily injuries. She is being held on a $300,000 bond.
