U.S. Rep. Russell Fry Seeks Nomination For Senate Seat

U.S. Rep. Russell Fry has served in the U.S. House since Jan. 2023, representing South Carolina's 7th Congressional District.

U.S. Rep. Russell Fry said that he will seek the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate seat formerly held by the late Lindsey Graham.

Fry said he intends to be a “Conservative MAGA candidate’ focusing on economic concerns affecting families across the state. He has served in the U.S. House since Jan. 2023, representing South Carolina’s 7th Congressional District. This district includes areas like the Grand Strand and Pee Dee regions.

Fry’s announcement signals a move from his current Congressional role to vie for a seat in the Senate in next month’s Special Primary Senate Election which is set for Aug. 11. Early voting will run from Aug. 5-7. If a runoff is necessary, it will be on Aug. 25.
