A Grammy-nominated rapper has been arrested in Horry County once again.
Sidney Selby III, whose stage name is Desiigner, was arrested in the area back in March after he allegedly ripped the keys out of woman’s pants and threw her to the floor during an altercation that left her with minor scratches and caused bleeding on her arm and lower back. He was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center and released the following day on a $1,500 bond. He was charged with third-degree domestic violence but the status of that case is unclear.
Selby was arrested again at the same home on Arbor Ridge Circle near Conway. During an argument with the same woman, he allegedly grabbed her phones and smashed them with a hammer, prompting her to run outside while holding a child seeking help. He chased her while still armed with the hammer. He threw her to the ground but she escaped to hide at a neighbors home. Selby allegedly used the hammer and a screwdriver to damage the neighbor’s vehicle.
Selby was charged with second-degree domestic violence; two counts of malicious injury to animals, personal property, injury value more than $2,000 but less than $10,000; and one count of malicious injury to animals, personal property, injury value $2,000 or less. He was given a $1,500 bond on one of the malicious-injury charges, but no bond was set on the other charges.
Desiigner is best known for his hits ‘Panda’ and ‘Timmy Turner.’
