Verruckt Regulations

Safety advocates are now calling for more oversight after the death of a young boy on the world's tallest water slide.

The name means “crazy” in German, however, the world’s tallest water slide is now  under scrutiny for its safety following a tragic accident at The Schlitterbahn Water Park in Kansas.  Ten year-old Caleb Schwab was found dead in pool at the end of the 168 foot-tall Verruckt water slide from an apparent neck injury. As the investigation continues, oversight for amusement park safety remains with local governments- there is no national data available on casualties at theme parks across the country. The park will re-open Wednesday but Verruckt will remain  closed.
