How Much Ice Cream Americans Eat Through the Summer

Most people would rather eat their ice cream from a bowl or cup than a cone.

A new survey found that during summer, the average person eats 11 scoops of ice cream a week. When you add those totals up across the country, Americans eat an estimated 11.4 billion pounds of ice cream over the course of the summer. That’s enough to fill 113 football stadiums.

Cookies and cream is the favorite flavor for GenZ, Millennials, and Gen X…but Baby Boomers still prefer classic chocolate. The survey also settled another important debate. Most people would rather eat their ice cream from a bowl or cup than a cone.
