Further details are limited as investigators work to learn more. This marks the second time skeletal remains were discovered in Horry County within the last week.

A human bone was found in a dirt pile in the area of Highway 501 and Highway 22 on Friday. The dirt is stored for hurricane or weather needs, and the pile was placed there sometime in 2025.

Authorities are investigating both situations.
