Former Pee Dee Teacher’s License Suspended After Child Sex Crime Charges
The charges stem from a 2024 investigation involving two victims younger than 16.
A former Pee Dee teacher has had his South Carolina teaching license temporarily suspended.
Eric Favor Jr. has held an educator certificate in the state for over six years. He was a social studies teacher at Lower Richland High School in Richland County School District One and previously taught at Johnakin Middle School in Marion County.
An investigation led to Favor’s arrest in which he was charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor, second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor, criminal conspiracy and promoting prostitution of a minor. The charges stem from a 2024 investigation involving two victims younger than 16.
Favor resigned on February 10. On Monday, the South Carolina Board of Education temporarily suspended his teaching certificate until a hearing is held or the matter is otherwise resolved. Favor is being held at the Marion County Detention Center without bond.
