McColl Police Chief Resigns After Less Than Seven Months

The chief of the McColl Police Department has resigned.

Charles English’s actions come less than seven months after he took on the position. He was hired back in June after the town went without a leader for the department for around seven months.

McColl has had a slew of issues with it’s police department over the past few years. Back in November of 2024, the town’s entire police department resigned citing a number of problems.

English cited “safety concerns” as a reason for his leaving. He explained that after all his time with the department, he has had no help and that there were no certified applicants. It was also said that in order to run the department, they need certified officers.
