Man Charged With Arson In Connection To House Fire
The home sustained heavy fire damage and seven people were displaced.
A man is now facing charges following a house fire in Horry County.
On Sunday, flames broke out at a residence along Ranchette Circle. when Horry County Fire Rescue crews arrived, 24-year-old Paul Bonilla approached them. He alleged that he was the one who set the house ablaze because he “being held hostage.”
Authorities were called in which Bonilla repeated the same allegations. He then admitted to purchasing gasoline from a nearby gas station. He reportedly lived in the house, but was not the owner.
An investigation is underway. Bonilla has been charged with second-degree arson. He is being held at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on a $25,000 bond.
