Socastee Library Opens Little Free Pantry
The pantry is open Monday through Saturday from 10am until the library closes.
The Horry County Memorial Library’s Socastee Branch has opened a ‘Little Free Pantry.’
The pantry officially opened in November. Items were not picked up until December when people started noticing it and spreading the word.
More than 1,000 donations were accepted in December, with nearly 600 benefiting the community.
The pantry is open Monday through Saturday from 10am until the library closes.
People are encouraged to drop items off including dry goods, individually packed snacks, ready-to-eat foods, as well as hygiene products.
The pantry will not accept any expired foods, dented cans or damaged packaging, perishable items, or foods made or canned at home.
