Retired NASCAR driver Greg Biffle and his family were among seven people who died in a plane crash Thursday.

The business jet crashed while attempting to return to the Statesville Regional Airport in North Carolina shortly after take-off. The Cessna aircraft caught fire when it hit the ground.

Aboard the plane were Biffle, his wife Cristina, and their two children 5-year-old Ryder and 14-year-old Emma. Others on the plane were identified as Dennis Dutton, his son Jack, and Craig Wadsworth.
