Correctional Officer Arrested Over Contraband
The correctional officer has been charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and contraband.
An officer at the federal correctional institute in Bennettsville has been arrested.
Investigators with the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the arrest of Joseph Templeton after the seizure of more than $100,000 worth of contraband and narcotics. The estimated value of the seized products is based on their projected value within the institution.
Templeton was taken into custody without incident and charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and contraband. He was taken to the Marlboro County Detention Center where he was handed a $7,000 bond.
