Conway Approves Funding For CCU Banana Ball Event
The council unanimously awarded $42,000 to support the event that is expected to cost $77,000.
The Conway City Council approved funding to assist Coastal Carolina University with an upcoming event.
Banana Ball is coming to the area when the Party Animals take on the newcomer Loco Beach Coconuts at Spring Brooks Stadium on March 28 and 29.
CCU applied for financial assistance through the city’s economic development grant program, which draws from the city’s general funds. The council unanimously awarded $42,000 to support the event that is expected to cost $77,000.
CCU and ‘Fans First Entertainment’, the company behind Banana Ball, will cover the rest outside of the city’s contribution. The goal is to attract 10 to 12,000 attendees.
