Judge Orders Temporary Closure Of “Nuisance” Hotel
The motion comes after police responded to the establishment more than 280 times since May.
A Myrtle Beach hotel has been forced to temporarily close its doors.
Twilight Surf Hotel is located along S. Ocean Boulevard. Last month, officials filed a temporary injunction in a bid to stop operations.
The motion comes after police responded to the establishment more than 280 times since May in response to criminal on-goings.
Including fire crews, authorities have responded to over 300 wellness checks, disturbances, and other safety issues.
State law condemned the hotel as a “nuisance” used for repeated drug activity or ongoing breaches of peace, creating serious safety concerns for the community.
A judge ordered the property to shutdown for six months and it can only reopen if it hires a certified security company.
