Trump Admin Takes Major Step In Dismantling Education Department

The Trump administration is taking a major step toward dismantling the Education Department.

Six departments will be moved to partner with four other agencies moving billions of dollars in grant programs.

The most significant is one that will put the Department of Labor in charge of some of the largest federal funding streams for K-12 schools, including title one money for schools serving low-income communities.

President Trump called for the Education Departments elimination with an executive action back in March.

So far, dismantling has mostly involved cutting jobs, but this move marks a major step forward.
