Dillon Police Chief David Lane Plans To Retire

"I am excited to see how the Dillon Police Department continues to evolve and thrive in the future," Lane said.

Longtime Dillon Police Chief David Lane announced plans to retire.

He has led the department for 10 years and dedicated over 27 years of service to the city overall. He was the first K-9 officer with the city of Dillon and started a combined drug interdiction unit with the county sheriff’s office.

Lane said he is grateful for the support of the the community, city leaders, and law enforcement colleagues, all in which contributed to his journey. He added, “I am excited to see how the Dillon Police Department continues to evolve and thrive in the future.”
